4 Reasons Why Your Website is Not Getting Any Traffic

You may already know that search engines can bring you quality website traffic. But the sad truth is that most people are aware of this and they are working on their site each day. So if you want to compete with them, you will need to make use of all the existing technologies like blogs, e-books, podcasts and websites. Maybe you are already doing all these things, but not seeing any great improvements. The reasons for this could be because of one or more of the followings:

1. You have to understand that if your website is new then the search engines will not treat it the same way as older websites because they want to be certain that your website is "genuine". You should be aware that there are over 30 billion pages that are on the internet and most of these are spam - they were created to trick the search engines. It can take up to 12 months before the search engines would pay good attentions to your site, which means you won't see much ranking results before that, even if you have spent a lot of time and/or money on SEO.

2. No one wants to be called a black hat marketer or what is commonly known as the spammer. But nobody can deny the fact that being a black hat marketer has got its advantages of being able to get results quickly. You should be aware of the pros and cons of using method, because it could get you banned from the search engines. So for this reason alone, I would recommend that you stay from this.

3. It's pointless if you have spent most of your time/money on the appearance of your new website but failing to write good contents for it. In the end, it will be useless and a waste of time. What the search engines want is quality content that written for humans. By doing so, you will be able to get links "naturally" on the Internet.

4. There are so many discussions on duplicate contents over the past few years. One thing that's known for sure is that you should focus on putting as much original content on your website as possible. The fact is search engines love fresh contents and websites or blogs that are updated regularly will be rewarded.

If you are not getting any decent results from the search engines you could try web and/or article directories. There are thousands of these directories on the Internet, you can submit your site to them to get back links and traffic. This can be very time-consuming if you are doing it by hand. Fortunately, there are software that can make the whole process less painful. The software (PHP script) made by PHPDirSubmit.com is capable of doing just this task and its price is very reasonable when compared to the others.

To sum it all up, in order to drive traffic to your website you have to do two things. First, you have to make your website VISIBLE in as many places as possible; Secondly, you have to make your website VALUABLE, so that people would want visit your website again and again.
